If you're looking for the best cookies in the city, Makedas Cookies is the place to go! Their Original Butter Cookies remind me of the classic Memphis City Schools cookies from the 1980s—soft, buttery, and full of nostalgia. They take me right back to my childhood. I also love their Iced Oatmeal Cookies, which have the perfect balance of sweetness and spice. Every visit is worth it. Highly recommend Makedas to anyone who loves fresh, homemade cookies!

I got the half dozen. choc chip, double choc, strawberry & oatmeal. They were ALL so good & soft! My favorite was the strawberry omg .. 10/10!

I have been a faithful customer for years. I sometimes drive 45 minutes to get a taste of the great treats. I also buy in store as well but this last bag is ridiculous. Why did the cookies get super small. I couldn't believe my eyes. Why make them smaller? I'm very disappointed.

First of all, I didn't come to your store. I found your cookies at the piggly wiggly in Batesville, MS. I went there yesterday, Monday June 29, 2026 to get some fresh plums. Then there, alone side of the plums I saw this cute little black girl with pigtail and a chef hat. That got my attention, so I picked the package up and saw Makeda's homemade butter cookies. I took a chance and on I55 heading back home I took a bite and oh my goodness is all I have to say. They are delicious and the story which I read after I tasted the cookie made it more special. We discovered at age 2 my son had nephrotic syndrome. He went to Saint Jude for testing but was treated at LeBonheur until 19 years. Thankfully he survived and was blessed to live past that critical moment. He presently lives in Atlanta, he and his wife and 2 boys which we were told he would probably never have but God. He's 37 and just published his first short book N.S. and Me. It's an account of his journey with nephrotic syndrome. So to you all, bravo and zulu for the love I taste in each bite of your cookies for the little angel you lost. God bless you and much continued success.

When I enter Makeda's Cookies, I feel nothing but love and true Southern hospitality every single time! 🍪❤️ My Baker's Dozen was fresh and delicious. They're well known for their amazing butter cookies, but the Baker's Dozen gives you the perfect opportunity to try a variety of flavors. One of my personal favorites is the chocolate chip pecan cookie… the perfect blend of both! 😍 If you haven't tried it yet, definitely check it out next time you go!

Delicious, I mean unforgettable and undeniably the best cookies I've had and believe this I'm a connoisseur of cookies 🍪 I'm only 145 miles west of the closest store and I honestly didn't purchase enough while I was there, because we're scheduling another trip East and definitely stopping by for the most special treats I've found in Memphis, so if you're traveling or decide to quench that desire for something extraordinary this will fulfill your desires!
